McMurray Battling Virus But Set To Race At Las Vegas

Matt Kenseth won the Auto Club 500 in Fontana, Calif., Sunday night to become the first driver in 12 years to open the season with back-to-back victories. It was Kenseth’s 18th career win and third at the two-mile track. Greg Biffle finished fourth.

Roush Fenway Racing teammates Jamie McMurray (third) and Greg Biffle (fifth) both qualified in the top five for Sunday’s race in Fontana, Calif.

Matt Kenseth, driver of the No. 17 Carhartt Ford Fusion, heads into this weekend’s race atop the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings following last Sunday’s victory in the Daytona 500. He met with the media prior on Friday Kenseth won Auto Club Speedway in 2006 and ’07. Teammates Carl Edwards, who won at Fontana last year, and David Ragan, who opened the season with a sixth-place finish at Daytona, also met with the media prior to qualifying.

Matt Kenseth took the checkered flag for the 17th time in his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career with today’s win at Daytona International Speedway.

Greg Biffle, driver of the No. 16 3M Ford Fusion, posted the fifth-fastest lap time during Saturday’s Happy Hour. He was one of three Roush Fenway Racing drivers (Matt Kenseth, second; David Ragan, sixth) in the top six.
