Ford Racing fans enjoyed a NASCAR weekend in Martinsville, Va., that saw Carl Edwards came away with a third-place finish in the NASCAR Sprint Cup race, while Rick Crawford finished third in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, as positions for the championship run solidified in both series.

Halfway through the NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup playoffs, Ford Racing team member Greg Biffle remains in third place as he continues his quest to become the first driver ever to win titles in NASCAR’s top three series.

Three Ford Fusions finished in the top 10 of both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and NASCAR Nationwide Series races in Charlotte, N.C., while Vaughn Gittin Jr. won the Formula Drift event in Irwindale, Calif., on a busy weekend for Ford Racing.

Four races into the 10-race Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Ford Racing drivers Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle remain second and third, respectively, in the standings – despite both being involved in a multi-car wreck in the closing laps of the Amp Energy 500 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway on Sunday.

Two series, two continents, two titles. Ford Mustang fans around the world celebrated last weekend’s accomplishments as America’s original pony car wrapped up road racing championships in North America and Europe.

This was a very busy week for Mazda at Road Atlanta. In addition to the 1,000 mile ALMS Petit Le Mans feature race there were season finales for the Cooper Tires Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda, and the SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Championship. There was also the penultimate round of the Star Mazda Championship Presented by Goodyear, and the entire Road Atlanta weekend was powered by the Totally New MAZDA6. And, in case that wasn’t enough, the new MAZDA6 pace car was fueled by BP Bio-Butanol, an advanced bio-fuel.

Ford Mustang fans around the world celebrated as America’s original pony car wrapped up racing championships on two different continents. Joe Foster and Scott Maxwell won the Grand-Am KONI Challenge series championship in North America and Eric de Doncker repeated as the GT4 European Cup champion in Europe.
